Poetry Rivals 2010 judges announced
The Poetry Rivals Slam is fast approaching and we have now confirmed the following performers/judges
Mark Grist - Peterborough performance poet
Mixy - Peterborough performance poet
A F Harrold - multiple slam winner
Keith Jarrett - UK Slam Champion 2009/2010
John Paul O'Neill - founder of Farrago Poetry and first British poet to compete in the US National Slam Championships
Kemi Taiwo - award & Slam winning London poet
Mark Niel - comic poet and host of Milton Keynes' 'Tongue in Chic'
Each poet will be performing throughout the day as well as judging the top 100 selected winners for Poetry Rivals competition 2010. Poetry Rivals 2010 Slam Information Announced
I have great pleasure in announcing the 2010 Slam Final venue information and the Top 100 2010 Slam Finalists!
The slam will be held at The City Club, Peterborough on Saturday 2nd April 2011, starting at 6pm until 9:30pm. The slam is organised in two parts, the under 18's will be up first, starting at 3pm until 6pm. The second half is organised for the over 18's, starting at 6:30pm until 9:30pm. Tickets ordered allows entry into both slams.
We are honoured to have Farrago Poetry of London helping is with the judging, along with some of the UK's up and coming poets performing on the day! Our poet in residence, Mark Grist will be performing and judging the over 18's Category.
Last years slam was a great success and our over 18's winner, Andrew Barber will be attending the slam to promote his published book 'Reflection In A Broken Mirror' and performing a selection of his published work!
The top 100 have all been contacted to inform them of their success and been given the opportunity to attend the slam and perform their winning poem!
Tickets will be available to purchase after the 18th March, all tickets are offered to the finalists and their family and friends first.
